About Us Charlton Heritage Preservation Trust is a group of conservation minded individuals working to encourage the preservation of critical open space and unique natural resources in Charlton, Massachusetts. CHPT exists primarily to protect the natural beauties and rural character of the town of Charlton, MA. CHPT is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable land trust with an Agreement and Declaration of Trust dated May 2, 1999 and recorded with the Worcester Registry of Deeds in Book 25536, Page 260.

(508) 248-5121 2009 Annual Report Awards and Recognitions! CHPT and the Town of Charlton are the proud recipients of a Green Valley Institute 2008 Green Neighbor Award! The award was presented at The Last Green Valley Quinebaug-Shetucket Heritage Corridor, Inc.’s annual meeting Friday, May 30th. The 2008 Green Neighbor Award was presented to the Charlton Heritage Preservation Trust and The Town of Charlton “For coming together to build a strong working relationship that has resulted in the recent preservation of 142 acres of open space set aside in flexible subdivisions; and for forging other partnerships for trail creation, maintenance, and stewardship, and for helping to keep the Last Green Valley green.” |
