Ponnakin Hill Open Space

Three parcels within the Ponnakin Hill subdivision were recently conveyed to CHPT by Gary Jennings of Jennings Custom Homes. There is an 8 acre parcel off of the Deer Run cul-de-sac, and a 7 acre parcel with access off of Pheasant Lane. The Deer Run parcel is dry and bounded by stone walls. Although there are no trails, it is an enjoyable walk in the woods. The Pheasant Lane property contains Owl Swamp, which feeds Owl Hole Brook. It abuts town owned property along the back boundary. The smallest lot is a piece totaling a little over 3 acres. It is located behind homes on Meadow Lane and contains some wetland habitat. Signage will be installed on these properties as soon as weather allows. They will be open to the public for non-motorized passive recreation, such as walking and hiking. Special thanks to Russ Jennings for walking the boundaries of the property with the CHPT Trustees.
