Stonegate Estates

The open space at Stonegate Estates is a roughly 4.5 acre wetland with a thriving bird community. It is at the end of a quiet culdesac on Haggerty Road Extension. A short natural path leads to the edge of the wetland which has many fiddlehead ferns and cat-o-nine tail plants. It is a small and wonderful area to listen for red-winged black birds, wood ducks, doves, and other winged inhabitants. Wetlands are sensitive and represent a very important part of our ecosystem. As such, this parcel is not suitable for trails, but it is a lovely spot for viewing a natural wetland habitat.
